History
“Christmas Creek” Droughtmasters originated from over 20 years of select breeding.
The original herd comprised of a Bos Taurus base with pure bred Droughtmaster bulls from the Fairhaven Stud being crossed over these females until the D1 females were selected for the stud and only then were 50 heifers selected and classified.
The characteristics sought for this breeding herd were stringent with cows not meeting the following criteria culled annually.
Testament to this stringent control of the Christmas Creek Stud is the favourable performance of our commercial cattle in competition.
